Harvest Sweets® and Cape Cod Cranberry Candy® are carried by a wide variety of specialty retailers throughout the U.S., including gourmet, gift and candy shops, natural food and upscale grocery stores, mail order and gift basket companies, produce and farm markets, and tourist-based retail shops. Cape Cod Provisions LLC services retailers directly as well as through a select group of specialty food and candy distributors. Retailers range from small independent shops to national specialty chains. Cape Cod Provisions’ products are also exported both directly and through U.S. based exporters of specialty food products.
About Us
Cape Cod Provisions LLC was founded in 1996 by Sue Faria. A self confessed workaholic by nature, Sue decide at age 40 that if she was going to continue to put her heart and soul into her work it would be a great deal more rewarding if it was her own company. Her husband worked in the cranberry industry on Cape Cod, a major cranberry growing region and the birthplace of the industry back in the early 1800’s, which sparked the idea for a regionally branded line of cranberry confections. Cape Cod Cranberry Candy™ was born.
If you’re as passionate as we are about unique, great tasting, attractively packaged, gourmet chocolate and fruit confections… you came to the right place!
Today the company has two brands of specialty chocolate and fruit confections: Cape Cod Cranberry Candy™ and Harvest Sweets® . Products include chocolate covered fruits, fruit truffles, chocolate bars with fruit and our signature Cranberry Bog Frogs®. The emphasis is on unique, high quality, gourmet fruit and chocolate combinations in attractive, eye-catching packaging incorporating photos of fresh fruit.
Cape Cod Provisions LLC is located on Cape Cod in the town of Pocasset, about 90 minutes south of Boston. Here we have a core team of hard working individuals that are passionate about chocolate and fruit and dedicated to superb customer service, including same day shipping on most wholesale orders. Harvest Sweets® and Cape Cod Cranberry Candy™ can be found through out the U.S. in
gourmet markets, candy shops, natural food and upscale grocery stores, produce and farm markets, gift stores and other specialty outlets. For a list of stores in your area please email customerservice@capecodprovisions.com and provide your city, state and zip code.
3. How should I store chocolate?
Store chocolate in a consistently cool, dark, dry place away from items with strong odors. Ideal storage temperature is 55 - 70 ° F with a daily temperature fluctuation of less than 5°. Make sure the product is well wrapped. Additionally it is best to place it in a moisture-proof container. We do not recommend storage in a refrigerator as it is damp and chocolate often absorbs odors of nearby food.
4. Do you ship chocolate in the summer?
Yes, we ship chocolate year-round. During the summer months or when shipping to warmer climates chocolate is shipped in an insulated shipping box with reusable cold pack to protect the chocolate in transit. This keeps the product in good condition for up to two days transit time; therefore, 2 nd Day Service may be necessary depending on the delivery location.
5. Will my purchase be taxed?
Cape Cod Provisions is located in Massachusetts, where food items are not taxed.
6. Do your chocolates contain nuts?
Nuts are direct ingredients in our Cranberry Bog Frogs® and Chocolate Bars with Cranberries & Almonds. Since nuts are in the facility, we can not guarantee that any of our products are entirely free of trace amounts of nuts.
7. Do your products contain soy?
Yes. Soy lecithin is an ingredient in the chocolate used for our products. It is a natural emulsifier that keeps the cocoa and cocoa butter in chocolate from separating.
No. All of our products contain sugar in the chocolate and the fruit.
8. Are any of your chocolates sugar free?
9. Are your products gluten free?
Our chocolate products are not manufactured with ingredients that contain gluten; however, they are manufactured in a facility that processes some gluten products. Because of this we cannot guarantee that any of our products are entirely free of trace amounts of gluten.
10. Are your products dairy free?
No. All of our confections contain some form of milk.
11. Are your products all natural?
We are in the process of converting more products to all natural recipes, and are using all natural ingredients for new products under development. Currently the following products are all natural. No products are organic or vegan.

Cranberry Bog Frogs® and Sweetened Dried Cranberries are Kosher certified.
13. Does chocolate have caffeine?
Yes. Chocolate provides a very small amount of caffeine compared to other foods. On average, 1oz of milk chocolate contains about 6 milligrams of caffeine; dark chocolate contains about 20 milligrams.
14. Does chocolate liquor contain alcohol?
No. Chocolate liquor is an ingredient in the chocolate used for many of our products. Chocolate liquor is made up of cocoa solids and cocoa butter, and is the liquid form of the ground up center of the cocoa bean.
15. What is ganache?
Ganache is a dense mixture of chocolate and cream. Our truffles are filled with a white chocolate ganache that includes fruit ingredients.
16 . Why does chocolate sometimes have a light, powdery surface?
When chocolate has a thin, whitish, powdery film on the surface, this is called chocolate “bloom”. There are two types of bloom common to chocolate, sugar bloom and fat bloom. Proper storage prevents both.
Sugar bloom is caused by moisture coming in contact with the chocolate, either from overly humid storage conditions or from a quick change in temperature resulting in moisture condensation on the surface of the chocolate. The moisture dissolves the sugar in the chocolate surface. Once the moisture evaporates, sugar crystals remain on the surface. Although less appealing visually and possibly a slight grainy texture to the surface, the chocolate is still edible.
Fat bloom most commonly occurs when chocolate is exposed to high temperatures (above 75 ° F). The cocoa butter in the chocolate changes from solid to liquid and migrates toward the surface of the chocolate. With subsequent cooling the liquid cocoa butter hardens into crystals, leaving whitish dots or a thin whitish film on the surface of the chocolate. If the blooming is excessive, it will cause the chocolate to taste dry and chalky throughout.
Harvest Sweets® and Cape Cod Cranberry Candy™ products are in excellent condition when shipped from our facility. We ensure that our storage conditions are ideal and that the transportation methods and packaging employed are always appropriate for the current weather conditions. Although product purchased by distributors and retailers includes storage instructions on the case labels, we can not guarantee the same care will be taken. If you do purchase a product that has bloomed, please notify us by email customerservice@capecodprovisions.com or phone (508-564-5840) and provide the name of the store, city and state where the chocolate was purchased.
17. Can I purchase products for a wedding, special event or corporate gifts?
Yes. You can purchase products online in full case quantities at 10% savings.

The result is a sumptuous chocolate and fruit taste sensation that is deliciously addictive. Dried blueberries, dried tart cherries and diced glace orange peel are drenched in rich milk and dark chocolate. Available packaged and in bulk.
Who can resist velvety smooth fruit ganache centers of pureed fruit, fresh cream and cocoa butter smothered with premium Belgium dark or milk chocolate? Harvest Sweets® truffles are unique in that the ganache center is made with white chocolate versus the usual milk or dark chocolate. This allows a fresher, fuller fruit flavor. It also allows the center to be the color of the fruit for added visual appeal. And to top it off each truffle is individually wrapped in a color-coordinating wrapper… how pretty!
There are nine varieties, each made in a small batch process - raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, cranberry, lemon, peach, orange, key lime and banana. Available packaged and in bulk.

Shipping
Shipping Coverage Area
All consumer orders are shipped via UPS from our facility in Massachusetts, and can only be delivered to a street addresses within the 48 contiguous states. UPS Ground is the service utilized, unless warm weather or customer “need by” date necessitates expedited service. We currently do not ship consumer orders to the following locations: Alaska, Hawaii, outside the U.S. including Canada, P.O. Boxes and APO/FPO addresses.

Warm Weather Shipping (over 74° F at recipient’s location)
Shipping during warm weather or to a warm climate requires a special insulated shipping container and reusable cold pack. There is a $4.00 charge per shipping container. Most orders fit in one shipping container. This charge will be automatically added to your total during processing in our office (not online). If the delivery location is more than 2 days UPS Ground transit time (see chart below), then 2 nd Day Service is required. If you do not proactively select 2 nd Day Service as the online order shipping method, this charge will be automatically added to your total during processing in our office. Warm weather orders are only shipped on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to prevent chocolate from sitting over the weekend at a UPS facility.
Order Processing & Delivery Time
We strive to pack and ship all orders within two business days, so your order will most likely ship the same day as it is placed or the next day. If you absolutely need an order to ship out the same day as placed, please call customer service at 508-564-5840 by noon EST. Note, orders that ship to warm climates are only shipped on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. And during the summer all orders are shipped on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so that they do not sit over the weekend at a UPS facility.

For an estimate of total days to deliver, add 2 business days for order processing and shipping to the appropriate number of transit days.
Within our online shop, select a product category by clicking the left-hand tab or by clicking the category picture from center screen. Most products are available per individual unit, by the case (10% savings), or by the pound. Within a category add a quantity to as many items as you wish then click Add to Cart (located at top and bottom of page). You will be brought to a summary window. From here you can continue shopping by clicking Back or by clicking on any product category on the left, or you may Proceed to Checkout.
Once you are finished shopping, click on View Your Cart. Here you can review items and quantities ordered and modify if desired, or you may click Proceed to Checkout. Then follow the prompts to complete your order (all fields in red are required).

Shipments are delivered Monday through Friday except legal holidays. Below is a map of the number of business days it takes UPS to deliver a Standard Delivery (UPS Ground) package shipped from Cape Cod Provisions in Massachusetts. Note, this excludes the pick up day, as well as the time it takes us to process the order. To be safe, add 2 business days; (1-2 days to process & ship) + (UPS transit days) = total days to delivery. If you would like to know the exact delivery date, please contact customer service at 508-564-5840 or customerservice@capecodprovisions.com . If the recipient will not be home during typical UPS delivery hours, consider having the package delivered to a place of employment.
